When Digital Pathology Becomes Pathology Sylvia Asa MD, PhD About the presenter Sylvia Asa , MD, PhD Dr. Asa is the Professor of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University and a former Endocrine Pathologist and Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. A Clinician-Scientist with a focus on Endocrine Pathology, her research aims to identify the basis for development of endocrine tumors, to improve diagnostic tests and to identify targets for therapy of those diseases. Dr. Asa has published over 450 scientific articles, written five books, co-edited five books and contributed more than 100 book chapters on endocrine pathology. She serves on numerous editorial boards of scientific journals and has given over 275 invited lectures.
